Albillo Real is a Spanish white grape variety that is mainly cultivated in the central region of Spain, in areas such as Madrid, Ribera del Duero and La Mancha. This grape produces wines of medium body and intensity, with great freshness and hints of white flowers, citrus and tropical fruits. Albillo Real is often used in blends with other varieties to produce more complex and deeper wines. In addition, this grape variety is used to make sparkling and fortified wines, such as sherry. Despite its versatility and unique characteristics, Albillo Real is not among the country's most widely planted and known grapes. However, its popularity is growing by leaps and bounds given its enormous potential.
