Summonte, Avellino (Irpinia)
Ciro Picariello is now a big name in Irpinia. He vinifies and enhances only indigenous Campanian varieties such as Fiano, Greco and Aglianico, from his 7 hectares of property, of which 5 hectares are white grapes and 2 red grapes, between Summonte and Montefredane.
Ciro exalts the terroir of Irpinia, in fact the altitude and the consequent cool and breezy climate, as well as the large temperature changes, characterise fresh and fragrant wines.
In the cellar, native yeasts and spontaneous fermentation are used, and only steel is used for both vinification and ageing.
