De Sousa
Avize, Champagne Erik De Sousa, the third generation of vigneron in his family, founded his Maison in 1986 but it is only a few years since he entered the Gotha of the Champagne world. Erik is a small, artisanal Recoltant from Avize, with 11 hectares and a production of around 70000 bottles per year, but he can boast vineyards, often with almost 100-year-old plants, in many Grand Crus in addition to Avize also in Oger, Le Mesnil sur Oger, Ay, Cramant and Ambonnay, the elective home of Pinot Noir. Alongside the main production and aimed at a niche audience, it proposes a new line, Zoemiè De Sousa, designed for a more varied public and with decidedly more accessible prices. His approach is strongly natural (and biodynamic), in the vineyard, where he has been certified organic since 2010, as well as in the cellar, his Champagnes are unique and with a very strong personality
