Domaine de Berthiers
Digital data sheets via email
Saint Andelain, France
The Loire Valley is the realm of Sauvignon Blanc and the Dagueneau family.
The Domaine des Berthiers was founded by Jean Claude Dagueneau, the father of the famous and ill-fated Didier. It is located in Saint Andelain, a small commune in the heart of the Loire and adjacent to Pouilly sur Loire. A simply wonderful area for the production of extraordinary white wines from Sauvignon Blanc and Gris.
The winery has a total of 11 hectares, set on gentle slopes that guarantee drainage and perfect health of the grapes, which reach optimum ripeness before being harvested by hand. The vines are more than 30 years old and lie on the typical soil of the area, calcareous and siliceous (the famous silex, flint), very rich in marine fossils.
The production is characterized by low yield, with great attention to the environment.
