Domaine de la Garreliere

Rezines, Loire The Domaine is named after the hill on which it stands, a few kilometres from Poitou, in the Touraine appellation. Vines have been cultivated here for three centuries, and since 1985 the owner has been François Plouzeau, who converted the estate to biodynamic agriculture in 1993. There are 20 hectares under vine, which are tended without the use of synthetic callas. In fact, they use spray preparations, such as 500 and 501, and heaping, macerated herbs such as nettle, yarrow, valerian and dandelion. The aim is to impart vitality to the plant and strengthen it. In the cellar, fermentations are spontaneous with autotonic yeasts and homeopathic amounts of sulphur dioxide added before bottling. The result is wines that represent the purest expression of this wonderful terroir, subtle and intriguing
