Gran Puy Lacoste

Pauillac, Bordeaux The Chateau Gran Puy Lacoste was built in 1737 and has had its original appearance since 1855 (an iconic date for wine producers in Bordeaux). The estate has belonged to the Borie family, a family of vignerons with a long tradition, since 1978. In fact, Eugene and Emile moved to Bordeaux in the late 1800s with the firm intention of producing quality wine. First as Negoce, then with their own winery. Francois Xavier, the last generation, immediately started a project to renovate the estate, including the vineyards, which were really shabby at the time. Now the Chateau has a great reputation, 90 hectares of land of which 55 are planted with vines, with a natural and environmentally friendly approach. Sustainable. In the cellar, vinification is traditional and the unmistakable flavour of Pauillac can be found in the glass. The Borie family also owns Château Haut-Batailley, another Grand Cru Classé of Pauillac.
