Have you ever heard of Wine Club? If you're a wine lover you probably are. It's the fashion of the moment, but what exactly are they?

This is a new way of understanding the experience of tasting and approaching wine, it is strongly correlated to online activity, even if there were those who, many years ago, were already proposing this service without knowing about its existence. Oh yes, those were hard times for door-to-door sales.

But let's go step by step, as mentioned is a phenomenon closely related to the online and in fact born in the U.S., a country known to be at the forefront when it comes to the use of the Internet.

Early 2000s, the first Wine Clubs are born

Since the end of the '80s, we can say that in the U.S. has exploded what can be defined as a massive wave of wine-mania that has affected mainly French and Italian wines.

American quality wine production was still in its infancy, despite the massive productions that were already taking place, and it was European winemakers who raised the level of the whole movement. The public then began to get passionate, until it became the first world market. Such a huge passion could only give rise to mass phenomena, as was the case with the spasmodic search for the great wines of the world. Bordeaux like the famous Super Tuscan.

In this context, a few decades later, and thanks to the curiosity of American wine lovers, wine clubs were born. Wine Clubs in Europe

We wanted to distinguish ourselves, we wanted to offer well-made wines, light years away in quality from those mass-produced by large wineries. We didn't know it yet, but we were already making ourselves unique.

In 2017 we decided to go online and offer, among other products, just the wine subscription one, not getting many subscribers, to be honest. The time was not ripe.

 

The effects of Covid

It was unfortunately an event shockingthe one that has given an acceleration to the whole unboxing sector, from the boom of the ecommerce to the Wine Clubs.

People, because of the pandemic, have been forcibly spending a lot more time at home, and so they have thoughtfully tested online services, including, very popular, we can guarantee, wine subscriptions.
