Federico Montagnani comes from a farming family. After gaining experience in other wineries, he took over the family business in 2006 and was able to realise his dream of producing wine on his own.
The farm covers 15 hectares, 10 of which are planted with vines; the rest are used to house 3,000 olive trees, Zefferano plants and to support farm animals and calves.
Its wines are very interesting and produced in balance with nature

Wine Box from 6 bottles of artisanal wine
Co'i Botto 2020, Verdacchio 50%
Verdacchio exists, it is not a typo and it is a grape variety that has disappeared but that Federico finds in his grandfather's vineyards, over 100 years old. The grapes macerate for 12 hours in the press, mature for 6 months in cement tanks before re-fermentation in the bottle. White flowers and fresh fruit such as apple, iodine and fragrant returns. Fresh and lively, light and drinkable sip
Vernaccia di San Gimignano Riserva Assola 2019, Vernaccia
The wine makes only cement, and only the must flower from the selection of the oldest estate vineyard is used. It then matures in the bottle. White flowers, pink grapefruit, apricot and aniseed, iodine and mineral notes. Vibrant, fresh and dry on the palate, savoury and medium-bodied, persistent
Piaggia a Levante Vermentino 2020, Vermentino
The grapes come from a half-hectare vineyard planted in 2016, soft pressing then 40 days in steel followed by bottling. Intriguing nose, white flowers then lots of fruit, Plum and Peach, hints of sea and aromatic herbs, Lemon Grass and Rosemary and on the finish roasted almonds. Fresh and aromatic, easy drinking, mineral and with a finish reminiscent of Cedar
Sovernaja 2019, Verdacchio
Sustainable wine, produced without the use of energy, with a unique grape variety and from vines almost 120 years old. The 50% macerates on the skins for 6 days, the remainder for 6 months, does one year in cement and one year in the bottle. Splendid, white flowers and fresh fruit such as apple, returns of cedar, mint, oregano and marjoram and iodine notes. Vibrant, very fresh and easy-drinking, voluminous body and long, lingering finish
Anime 9 2019Sangiovese, Colorino, Canaiolo, Ciliegiolo, Pugnitello, Malvasia Nera, Trebbiano, Malvasia and a yet unknown variety
The grapes come from a 1935 vineyard. Fermentation and maceration for 40 days in Tonneaux, then a further year between Tonneaux and Barrique, and finally a year in bottle. Rose and violet, ripe red and black fruits, underbrush and Mediterranean scrub, brackish and mineral returns, black spices. Full-bodied and powerful with dense tannins, seductive and elegant with a long finish
Piaggia a Ponente Rosato 2020Sangiovese
The grapes come from a vineyard dating back to 1935, fermentation and maceration in cimento for 10 months followed by a year in the bottle. Floral and fruity, marine and mineral notes, returns of wild and aromatic herbs. Refreshing and fruity, full-bodied, fresh and savoury
