Andrea Pilar Malvasia Nera 2021
14,50 € 13,50 €
Black Malvasia is a red wine produced by Andrea Pilar at Molino Vitelli, in Umbria, and made from pure Malvasia Nera grapes; these are delicately crushed and destemmed and spontaneously ferment in steel for two to three weeks using indigenous yeasts. Before ageing, the wine also spontaneously undergoes malolactic fermentation and the fine lees are stirred. Again in steel, the wine matures for several months with periodic batonnage. Malvasia Nera is rich in floral and fruity aromas, with distinct menthol notes, while in the mouth it is fresh and generous, savoury and of good length, ideal with good Umbrian pecorino

Molino Vitelli, Umbria
The Andrea Pilar project was born in an unspoilt area of Umbria, not far from Umbertide, the landscape is decidedly hilly, the climate mild in spring and cold in winter, its is calcareous clay, alluvial and rich in skeleton.
Perfect conditions for the grapes to ripen without stress, enhancing aromas and acidity even in the most complex vintages.
Andrea and Pilar Gritti are brother and sister, and after years of training abroad they decided to return to Italy and take the reins of the family business, which was initially designed for conventional production, but has now turned a new leaf, in search of a natural and respectful approach to the environment and the end customer.
