Arbois Silk Blue 2022 Hughes Beguet

Arbois Silk Blue is a red wine produced by Hughes Beguet in Mesnay in the Jura and obtained from Poulsard and Trousseau grapes, harvested manually. The fermentation is spontaneous with indigenous yeasts, then half of the mass undergoes carbonic maceration while the other half then ages in exhausted wooden barrels for 6 months. Bottled without addition of sulfur dioxide, filtration or clarification. Arbois Silk Blue is a clearly silky wine, but also enjoyable and very fresh, very long on the nose it is a riot of woodland memories, from red fruits to hints of violets, from wet earthy to balsamic, with a hint of reduction that completes a very particular nose . Go with the Morteau sausage!

A nose that to define complex would still be an understatement, wild strawberries, raspberries and cherries then floral notes of violet, then a slight reduction then arrive spices, undergrowth and notes of wet earth. Very mineral!

The sip is greedy and juicy, fresh and delicate, the tannin is very polite, elegant and persistent on the grand finish
