Montalcino, Tuscany

Armilla is the story of a promise. In ancient Rome, a gold bracelet was awarded to Roman soldiers for military merit, and worn on the left.

The company has 3 hectares under vine out of a total of almost 5, 2 of which are dedicated to Sangiovese grosso, the rest to Sangiovese and olive groves. It was founded after various vicissitudes in 1980 by Silverio Marchetti. In 1995, one hectare manages to enter the DOCG and the story begins.

The area is south-west, in the direction of Grosseto, at altitudes of 320 metres, with a dry and breezy climate, perfect for ripening grapes

Geologically speaking, the soil is composed of polygenic conglomerates with a prevalence of calcareous, siliceous and arenaceous elements that are more or less cemented and encompassed by sandy layers. Rich in minerals and with an average level of fertility, the soil lends itself to the cultivation of vines.

Qu are born wines of great power and elegance, worthy of the appellation from which they come
