Irouleguy Cuvèe Haitza 2020 Domaine Arretxea

Irouleguy Cuvèe Haitza is a red wine produced by Domaine Arretxea in Irouleguy, in the French Basque Country, and obtained from Tannat and Cabernet Franc grapes, harvested manually. One week maceration with spontaneous fermentation by indigenous yeasts and aging for 16 months in 600 liter foudres and demi-muids. It spends a further 6 months in the bottle. Irouleguy Cuvèe Haitza releases hints of violet and plum on the nose, raspberry and cherry, the contours are those dictated by the notes of wild and tertiary herbs, such as dark spices and cocoa. In the mouth it is medium-bodied, agile and lively, fresh and mineral, with powerful but polite tannins. His persistence should be rewarded with lamb

We are located in the south-west of France, bordered to the north by the Bordeaux vineyards and to the south by the Pyrenees. Domaine Arretxea is a historic winery that produces wine using the area’s native vines, many of which are absolutely unique. The winery extends over 8.5 hectares of vineyards, grown biodynamically for many years now.

The owners are Michel and Thérèse Riouspeyrous, lovers of the territory, tradition and the environment.
