As often happens in the world of wine, the impetus for the production, or the consecration of a product, always comes from the religious orders; Clovis converted to the Christian faith at Christmas in 496, and was baptized in Reims by Saint Remigius, the bishop of the city whose home was surrounded by vineyards.
The link between the County of Champagne and the Crown of France was definitively established with the marriage between Joan of Navarre and Philip the Fair.
In the following millennium Champagne became a gift with which to pay homage to the monarchs visiting the region, loved for its finesse, elegance and taste, in fact, as early as the twelfth century it was a symbol of luxury and began to cross borders, increasingly in demand.
Symbol of excellence, unfailing guest of honour at Royal weddings over the centuries and at the great Universal Exhibitions of 1889 and 1900 in Brussels and Paris; over the years, over the centuries, it has confirmed its image as an exceptional wine. It is still a symbol and witness of rare or important events.
