🛁 Produced from a bush-trained vineyard with vines up to 80 years old, planted on soils rich in clay and calcareous tuffs. Maceration on the skins for 20 to 40 days depending on the vintage, maturation for about 24 months in 30 hl oak conical vats and at least six months in the bottle.
👃🏻 Austere nose, dark flowers and red fruits, mulberry and herbs
👅 A wine of great drinkability, elegant and persistent, with dense tannins and a long finish

Faro is a micro-denomination of just 25 hectares and only five producers.
Giovanni Scarfone of Bonavita is one of them, a young micro-vine grower from 1980, first harvest in 2006, and in this area he owns 7 hectares, of which only 2.30 are planted with vines, the rest are destined for olive groves and woodland.
The strange thing is that in this area threatened by cement, everything speaks to you about Sicily.
The sea is just a stone's throw away but trying these wines the first thought immediately flies to austere Piedmont with its Barolo. Wine magic and mystery.
