🛁 The grapes come from approximately 25-year-old vines planted on soil rich in clay and ferruginous sand known as crasse de fer, fermented in steel vats, and then aged for 14 to 18 months in oak barrels, of which the 70% is new wood and the 30% is one-year old wood.

👃🏻 Lots of ripe fruit on the nose, ranging from plum to cherry, blackberry to blackcurrant, dried red flowers with hints of minerals and dark spices

👅 Warm and soft, rich and enveloping, the tannin is velvety and the finish very long

Saint Emilion, Bordeaux

Dassault is historically a family of investors, present in the world of aeronautics, new technologies and even in the arts.

Since 1955 also in that of good wine, of which they are passionate. So they took over the Chateau Couperie and began working hard to improve the estate in every way, which they renamed.

Their efforts were fully rewarded when in 1969 Chateau Dassault was elevated to the rank of Saint Emilion Grand Cru Classé.

In 2002, the Dassaults acquired the prestigious Chateau La Fleur, a magnificent property, and in 2013, the Chateau Faurie de Souchard, coming to own over 50 hectares in total.

Since 1995 the owner has been Laurence Brun, who succeeds her father André Vergiette.

The estate works with respect for the terroir and the ripeness of the grapes. Vinification takes place for the most part in steel tanks, and only for a small part whole-grape fermentation takes place in barriques, those that come from the estate's most representative crus. Ageing is always in French oak for a period of 14 to 18 months.
