Pauillac, Bordeaux
The Chateau Gran Puy Lacoste was built in 1737 and has looked as it does today since 1855 (an iconic date for wine producers in Bordeaux).
The estate has belonged to the Borie family since 1978, a family of vignerons with a long tradition. In fact, Eugene and Emile moved to Bordeaux at the end of the 1800s with the firm intention of producing quality wine.
First as Negoce, then with its own cellar.
Francois Xavier, the last generation, immediately started a renovation project of the estate, including the vineyards, which were really in bad shape at the time.
Now the Chateau has great fame, 90 hectares of land of which 55 are under vineyards, with a natural and environmentally friendly approach. Sustainable.
In the cellar the winemaking is traditional and the unmistakable flavor of Pauillac can be found in the glass.
Furthermore, the Borie family also owns Château Haut-Batailley, another Grand Cru Classè from Pauillac.
