🛁 Twelve months of maceration in Giorgian amphorae for a truly intriguing and profound version of Cabernet Franc. In the right hands, ageing in terracotta gives crystalline and very expressive wines.
👃🏻 Spatial nose, very complex. Dark blueberry and currant fruits, violets, then pepper and humus, earthy, herbaceous with a liquorice and pepper finish.
👅 A wine with great freshness, intriguing tannin. The body is medium and very persistent on the finish

It's true that life always has surprises in store. Nicolas Reau, a former rugby player and professional jazz pianist, knows this well. One day he decided to give up everything to study oenology and viticulture in Montreuil and Bordeaux before founding Clos des Treilles in 1999 in Anjou, in the Loire.
The wines he produces are in his own image, at first surly, barely open, then elegant and tasty.
