From dried grapes harvested between November and December, which creates a high concentration of sugar in the grapes that prolongs fermentation for up to 18 months. Hints of 'Grandma's Cake', fragrant and with returns of Apple, melted Butter and Honey. Bitter on the palate, yet with an excellent acidic backbone to balance the structure. Jurançon, New Aquitaine
We are located in Jurançon, practically Pau, and therefore very close to the Pyrenees. The estate covers 17 hectares, all organically farmed, with an annual production of around 60,000 bottles.
Initially a farm for rearing cattle, producing fruit and vegetables and producing grapes for sale to the local cooperative, Clos Lapeyre became a real winery in 1985.
