Vescovato Coast, Piedmont
We are located south of Tortona, in a land of white marl and clay, now considered the best possible terroir for Timorasso, the grape rediscovered by the great Walter Massa.
It all began for Daniele when his grandfather bought Cascina San Cleto and its 6 hectares in 1929. Half of these would be planted to Barbera, Croatina and Timorasso, leaving his farm animals free to roam the other half.
Subsequently, the company passed into the hands of Daniele Ricci's father and finally, in the 2000s, into his own. The number of hectares had in the meantime grown to 8 and the company decided to bet heavily on Timorasso.
The approach in the vineyard is virtuous and in the sign of tradition, therefore natural and with as little human intervention as possible. The aim of the company is to produce territorial and unique wines.
In the cellar there is a lot of room for long macerations and the use of large Acacia barrels, less to say nothing of sulphur dioxide additions.
Timorasso is a wine for ageing, intimate and slow to indulge, but when it does, it is able to give great emotions, just like those of Daniele
