The Maconnaise is located in the most southern part of Burgundy and is the link between the culture
Burgundy and the south of France. The entire region produces grapes on a territory of about 5000
hectares, and the main grape variety is 'Chardonnay', which we find in its best expressions in the south of the area in the following appellations: 'Pouilly Fuissè', 'Macon Village', 'Saint Véran', 'Virè Classé'.

The peculiarities of the limestone soils and rock formations of Solutrè-Pouilly and Fuissé, give the wines produced a quality primacy that is evident and recognised throughout the Maconnaise region.

The Auvigue family has been winemakers for several generations, and since 1629 the name Auvigue has been known and respected among the vignerons of Beaujolais and Maconnaise. Originating in the South of France, the Auvigue surname can be found in Emeringes in Beaujolais, in Chasselas, then Fuissé and finally settled in the village of Solutrè-Pouilly.

The Auvigue estate has approximately 6 hectares under vine and produces in the Pouilly-Fuissé and Macon Village Solutrè appellations. The Macon-Solutrè has been produced according to organic criteria for some time now, the Pouilly-Fuissé since 2009.

The estate's vineyards are tended in accordance with Burgundy traditions. In order to guarantee the authenticity of each parcel, owners Jean-Pierre and Michel Auvigue vinify each parcel separately. This allows 'La Frairie', 'Les Chailloux' or 'Les Crays', vineyards located in Pouilly-Fuissè, to express themselves at their best. All appellations are vinified in oak barrels from French forests.

In the cellars of Moulin du Pont, the wines patiently mature and refine, waiting to meet, on tables all over the world, admirers capable of appreciating the finesse of Maconnaise chardonnay.
