Caudiès de Fenouillèdes, Roussillon
Alain Carrère founded the company in 1992 with his wife Agnes. The winery was built on 30 hectares, mainly on schist soils, with alberello plantings. Initially, the production was designed for large-scale distribution, but the meeting with Tom Lubbe of Matassa decidedly changed the horizons.
The winery's renaissance was brought about by Tom's strong desire to convert to organic methods and to use only indigenous yeasts for vinification. The rebirth of Domaine de Majas is represented by clear, lightning-fast and delicious wines.
