Saumur Champigny Les Memoires 2021 is a red wine produced by Thierry Germain of Domaine des Roches Neuves in Saumur, in the Loire Valley. The grapes come from very old ungrafted vines, aged in oak barrels for approximately 18 months. The nose is rich in hints of undergrowth, with earthy notes of humus and herbaceous, while on the palate it is very refined and has silky tannins. We like it because we consider it the Porsche of the entire denomination, ideal with truffles

From very old 110 year old vines on the Silex (Silica) of Dampierre, it is the Porsche of the entire Saumur Champigny appellation.
Complex nose with floral tones and practically a parade of red and black fruits. Earthy hints, of humus and various types of pepper. Herbaceous and mineral. Gorgeous

Domaine Des Roches Neuves was born thanks to the incredible tenacity and will of Thierry German who, originally from Bordeaux, moved to Saumur in the early 1990s where he met his mentor and spiritual father Charly Foucault of Clos Rougeard.
Thierry Germain was one of the 2.0 pioneers of the biodynamic movement in the entire area, and is now rightfully among the best biodynamic companies in all of France.
The Domaine offers many variations of the Saumur Champigny denomination, and the main grape variety is Cabernet Franc, but be careful, you could easily fall in love with an unusual wine, produced with Chenin Blanc, called the Insolite, the house white.
