The winery is the result of the meeting of two families: Jules and Suzanne Grivot, winegrowers for 5 generations in Gatherer
and the Tardy family winegrowers of the Maison Morin in Nuits-Saint-Georges. Since 1978 René Tardy has led the company
together with his 2 sons, Jacques and Jöel, and from then on the Domaine took the name René Tardy and Fils. The age
average age of the vines is 30 years, but some of them such as Nuits-Saint-Georges, Gevrey Chambertin and
Pommard exceed 50 years. After fermentation, the wines are aged in burgundy barrels (228 litres) for
at least 18 months.
