Cote de Brouilly 2021 Chateau de Grand Prè

Cote de Brouilly is a red wine produced by Chateau de Grand Prè in Villiè Morgon in Beaujolais, and obtained from pure Gamay grapes, harvested manually and coming from vines of over 70 years, on granitic and shale soil. Spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts and macerations for approximately 2 weeks, aging for 6 months in demi muids. Cote de Brouilly releases hints of violet and iris, red fruits and minerals, in the mouth it is agile and drinkable, fresh and tasty, to try with soft cheeses

The grapes come from plants between 60 and 70 years old positioned on sandy and granitic soil with exposure to the South, South-East. The harvest is carried out manually, the fermentation is spontaneous with native yeasts, the wine macerates for two weeks and then matures for 6 months in demi-muids, 600 liter barrels.

Floral with clear hints of iris, red fruits and notes of undergrowth, mineral returns

Agile and drinkable, with great structure and tannins, savory in the finish

Family-run winery that has been handed down for generations and in 2012 Romain Zordan took the reins, and in 2018 Alexandre Jakovljevitch joined him. The company is in Provence but part of the vineyards, those that interest us, are located between Fleurie and Villié Morgon, certified organic since 2012.
