Who has never heard of Burgundy and its incredible wines.
We are located in Central-Eastern France, in a vast territory that goes from Auxerre to Lyon, an area of 250 km and almost 50,000 hectares of vineyards.
The vine was introduced two thousand years ago by the Romans but it was the winemaking monks between 500 and 1400 who represented the push, the strongest impulse to local production; despite going through, like all of Europe, a troubled nineteenth century due to Phylloxera, Burgundy is universally recognized as one of the best wine regions in the world.
There are many cult vineyards within this area, Pommard, Montrachet, Gevrey-Chambertin, Nuits-Saint-Georges, Vosne-Romanée and Aloxe-Corton; in Burgundy we also find that famous municipality blessed by the God of (still) Chardonnay, Chablis.
The saying “You know wine with Bordeaux but you fall in love with Burgundy” is, in our opinion, truly apt.
