Integer Zibibbo 2022 De Bartoli

Integer Zibibbo is a white wine produced by Marco De Bartoli in Contrada Fornara Samperi, in the Marsala area, and obtained from 100% Zibibbo grapes, harvested manually. Spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts, 10-day maceration in used barrels, and further refinement in the same container for 10 months. It is finally bottled with a homeopathic addition of sulfur dioxide, depending on the vintage and in glass it rests for at least a further 3 months. Integer Zibibbo releases hints of orange blossom and orange blossom, pineapple and mango, then dried fruit – almonds – and also memories of dates, finally sweet spices and mineral and herbaceous notes. When tasted it is fresh and tasty, light and delicious, delicate and long.

Veronelli and Stefi rightly define Marco De Bartoli as a milestone in Italian viticulture, founder of a company, a heavenly Cerberus, between Samperi, 12 km from Marsala, and Bukkuram in Pantelleria.

Now in the saddle are Sebastiano and Giuseppina, the children of Marco, who passed away in 2011 too young.

Marco is described as a worthy Sicilian, volcanic and dreamer, impetuous and sunny, proud and southernist, defender of his land and his wine tradition, critical when it comes to those who have cleared Marsala or ruined Sicily. Bold and unrepeatable.

We at Apewineboxes would have loved to meet him in person, unfortunately it’s not possible; however we can respect it in appreciating its wonders. It makes us feel closer to him.

The company icon is Vecchio Samperi, a splendid Marsala which however is not fortified and therefore does not fall within the specifications of Marsala Vergine. A unique wine.
