Malidea is a hill that lies between the cellar and the Nebbiolo vineyards of Gad Lerner and his wife Umberta, for many years partners of Cascina Iuli, with loose, clayey-limestone soil. 30 days of maceration and 28 months of maturation in large barrels (22 hl) and 6 months in the bottle, for a surprising version of Nebbiolo
On the nose there are clear small ripe red, pink and purple fruits, then black pepper, light vegetal and balsamic hints
On the palate it denotes perfect integration with alcohol and good freshness, elegant and pleasantly long-lasting
Serving temperature 18°-20°
Fettuccine with meat sauce or truffle
It is a successful experiment by the company, among the few to strongly believe in Nebbiolo in Monferrato
Montaldo di Cellina (AL)
“I was born here and have always lived here. I like to work wines in the Piedmontese tradition (in concrete and wood). Starting
of the white earth and the minerality of the soil, I try to make light wines. I like wines that are easy to drink, not banal,
possibly elegant, fresh, dynamic and crisp.”
Words and music by Fabrizio Iuli, one of the most inspired Piedmontese producers; the direction
company is aimed at valorising native Piedmontese varieties, such as Slarina and Baratuciat.
