Domaine des Roches Saumur Champigny Bavardages 2021

Saumur Champigny Bavardages is a red wine produced by Jeanne Germain, the daughter of the legendary Thierry, in Varrains, in the Loire Valley. It is obtained from Cabernet Franc grapes coming from the varied soils of Chaintres, Varrains and Saumur. Spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts and 3-week maceration in wood, followed by 7-month aging in barriques. It is bottled without the addition of sulfur dioxide, clarification or filtration. Ripe berries and black spices on the nose, fresh and crunchy in the mouth. A great interpretation by Jeanne to try with lasagna!

The grapes come from 40-year-old vines located in the municipalities of Chaintres, Varrains and Saumur, which boast soils rich in sand, clay and limestone. Selection of the best grapes, 3 weeks of maceration in wood and aging in barrique for 7 months. It is bottled without additions, filtrations or clarifications

Jeanne Germain is the daughter of the famous Thierry, of Domaine des Roches Neuves.

After taking her first steps within her father’s famous company in 2013, Jeanne began a journey that led her to be responsible for all of her father Thierry’s vineyards in 2018.

Helping her are Florent and the two inseparable horses Ben and Comtsse, the true souls of Roches Neuves.

Jeanne’s wines are sensational because they are the expression of a territory that Germain studies, observes and interprets to obtain the best grapes every year.
