Pinot noir Infrarouge is a red wine produced by Kumpf et Meyer in Roshein, Alsace. The Pinot Noir grapes come from forty-year-old vines on calcareous clay soil. Spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts with two-week maceration for the entire mass, of which 25% whole cluster. AIt then matures in barriques and demi-muids for just under a year, after which it is bottled and in glass for a few more months. Slightly spicy on the nose where all possible berries and many floral hints pass through, on the palate it is fresh and elegantly tannic. A fantastic Pinot Noir to pair with our local tonnarelli pasta with truffles.

🛁 From approximately 40-year-old vines planted on clay-limestone soils with a yield of 50 hl/ha. Macerates on the skins for a fortnight with about 25% whole cluster. Matured in barriques and demi-muids for 10 months. Very interesting expression of Pinot Noir.

👃🏻 Explosion of berries, reviewing Ribes, Blackberry, Raspberry, Cherry and Strawberrythen the floral notes of Rose and Violet enter. At the end undergrowth and very light spices

👅 Fresh and drinkable in the mouth, with barely noticeable tannin. Savoury and slightly fruity on the finish

Even as he is uncorking one of his labels his eyes speak of ideas and future plans.

His idea of wine is strongly expressive of the terroir from which he comes, with sharp and mineral wines, great drinking and without residual sugar, in full Alsatian style. Obtained by microvinifications, Kumpf et Mayer can count on 16 hectares of property, all fragmented in the best Alsatian tradition. The terroirs are many and varied. A young company with a bright future.
