The grapes come from very varied soil: stony and calcareous clay, sand and pebbles. The microclimate is equally multifaceted and allows the plants to fully mature. Grapes completely destemmed, fermentation at around 20 degrees, short maceration and filtration before bottling. The wine has a dark red color and a very fruity, powerful and elegant nose.
Pink and Purple, Blackberries and small red fruits, mineral with iodized and undergrowth notes

That of Pascal Veraeghe is the classic story that we like to tell: the family founded the Chateau de Cedre in 1950, but Pascal only had motorbikes in mind, at least until 1980, when the spark struck on his return from the Bol d’Or.
He was supposed to stop only to help the family with the harvest and instead he enrolled in oenology in Macon, trained in Burgundy and Macon and after 8 years he took the reins of the estate together with his brother Jean Marc.
Chateau le Cedre has been certified organic since 2012 but the practice in the vineyard has always been ultra respectful of nature, and Malbec is the most cultivated grape variety.
