When we talk about Malvasia we always refer to a multitude of varieties that often have very different characteristics, and share a name that originates from the Greek city of Monvasia.
Malvasia was so renamed by the Venetian merchants who imported the wine from Malta; with this name the Venetian merchants identified a sweet wine, strongly aromatic and alcoholic, coming from the eastern part of the Mediterranean Sea.
Present throughout Europe can be found in white berry and black berry.
