Azay-le-Rideau is the cradle of Grolleau: consider that the first writings regarding old varieties of Grolleau were discovered in 1810 right in Cinq Mars la Pile, just 5 km from Marie Thibault’s estate. This is a true vin de soif, airy and low in alcohol, produced with carbonic maceration. Tonic and perky, irresistible at the table.
Red fruits, dark petaled flowers, flint and undergrowth
Tonic and perky in the mouth, medium structure and not particularly alcoholic. Mineral and with a fun finish
Serving temperature 12°-14°
Throughout the meal, try it with cured meats
True vin de soif
LIGNIERES DE TOURAINE, Loire (France)
Marie Thibault worked as an employee of Francois Chidaine in 2002 and then became an independent wine producer in 2004. Her company is located in Lignieres de Touraine, on the edge of the Loire Valley. Marie owns 3.5 ha, where white and red grape varieties such as Chenin Blanc, Grolleau and Gamay grow. The vineyards are around 50 years old under organic cultivation (since 2014) and around 10 thousand bottles of red whites and petillants are produced annually.
