Matassa Brutal Orange Macabeu 2023

Brutal Orange Macabeu 2023 is an orange wine from Matassa a Calce, in Languedoc Roussillon. The Macabeu grapes are harvested manually, macerated for a month with spontaneous fermentation by native yeasts; the wine subsequently ages for a few months in 600 liter demi muids. It is not clarified or filtered and does not require the addition of pre-bottling sulphur. The nose is complex and mineral, the sip is fresh, lively and persistent. We like it because it is dedicated to the iconic Brutal bar in Barcelona and also because we think it is extraordinary, try it with a nice grilled prawns

  Dedicated to Barcelona’s iconic Bar Brutal the grapes come from slate-rich soil and are harvested manually. Native yeasts and spontaneous fermentation with maceration on the skins for about a month, matures in 600 liter Demi-Muids. No filtration or clarification, minimal addition of pre-bottling sulphur.

Broad and complex nose, with white flowers and yellow petals, pulpy fruit and also orange peel, very aromatic and with great minerality

Lively and deep, lively and fresh, aromatic and very tasty, light and rich, with extraordinary persistence

Tom Lubbe, from South Africa to a small village of 300 people in Roussillon, without return.
