Matassa RollaBall 2022

Rollaball 2022 is a rosé wine from Matassa produced by Tom Lubbe in Calce, Languedoc Roussillon, and obtained from whole bunch pressing of Mourvedre and Carignan grapes. These grapes come from the same plot of black earth used for Les Myrs, and are aged for a total of 10 months in cement, before being bottled without filtration, additions or clarifications. Rollaball is a convivial and happy wine perfect in combination with pappardella with white hare ragout. The nose exudes Mediterranean scrub, with hints of aromatic herbs and floral and fruity notes, while in the mouth it is fresh and light, soft and rounded

  Manual harvest of grapes that come from the black lands, rich in shale and marl, it is produced with the same grapes used for Les Myrs, only here they are whole bunch pressed. Spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts and aging for 10 months in cement. It is bottled without filtration or clarification, without the addition of sulfur dioxide

Fresh and delicate in the mouth, tasty, light and with round, soft and persistent tannins

Tom Lubbe, from South Africa to a small village of 300 people in Roussillon, without return.

It was 2002 and in a short time Tom became a cult producer not only for the wonderful terroir of Calce.

His wines are tense, nervous and mineral like the granite on which the old sapling vines are planted, at the same time graceful and ethereal, like the wind that unfailingly combs those wild hills.
