Matassa Cuvèe Marguerite 2023

Cuvèe Marguerite is a white wine produced by Matassa a Calce, in Languedoc Roussillon, and obtained from manually harvested Moscato d’Alessandria, Macabeu and Muscat petit grain grapes. Spontaneous fermentation of the whole bunch with indigenous yeasts and maceration for a few days, then aging for 10 months in non-first passage wood, without batonnage. Bottled without additions, clarifications or filtrations. Cuvèe Marguerite on the nose recalls hints of floral and aromatic herbs, minerals and fruity; in the mouth it is fresh and dynamic, with excellent persistence. Try it with the lemon scallop

White flowers then fresh fruit such as pear and peach, lemony and aromatic with mineral returns and hints of thyme

Fresh and agile, aromatic and slightly lemony, persistent

Tom Lubbe, from South Africa to a small village of 300 people in Roussillon, without return.

His wines are tense, nervous and mineral like the granite on which the old sapling vines are planted, at the same time graceful and ethereal, like the wind that unfailingly combs those wild hills.
