Wine Box of 2 bottles of white wine + one orange
Blanc 2019, Grenache Gris 70%, Macabeu 30%
From yields of only 15 hectoliters per hectare. It ferments in wood where it subsequently refines for a further 14 months on the yeasts. Spices, flint and pear. Three-dimensional and elbow-deep.
Olla Blanc 2020, Macabeu 50%, Petit grain Muscat 50%
Native yeasts and spontaneous, whole bunch fermentation. Refines in exhausted 228 liter barriques. White flowers and summer fruit, aromatic with saline and Mediterranean scrub puffs. Fresh, graceful and tasty, also aromatic when tasted and very pleasant
El Carner Rouge 2020, Grenache Gris 60%, Macabeu 40%
Blend of Grenache Gris and Macabeu from a half-hectare plot planted on lime, clay and slate soil, surrounded by garrigue. Maceration and fermentation for a month in 1,000 liter Italian amphorae, indigenous yeasts, then maturation for 8 months in the same amphorae. White and yellow flowers, exotic fruit, Mediterranean scrub, aromatic herbs and intense minerality. Agile and concrete sip, full, with slightly oxidative hints, crazy elegance and long finish
Lime, Cote Catalanes (France)
Tom Lubbe, from South Africa to a small village of 300 people in Roussillon, without return.
It was 2002 and in a short time Tom became a cult producer not only for the wonderful terroir of Calce.
His wines are tense, nervous and mineral like the granite on which the old sapling vines are planted, at the same time graceful and ethereal, like the wind that unfailingly combs those wild hills.
