Produced from Loureiro grapes (but Vinho Verde can also be successfully produced with Alvarinho), it is vinified with indigenous yeasts, then matures for just under a year in steel tanks at a controlled temperature before refining for around 6 months in the bottle.

Fernando Paiva, former history professor, was one of the pioneers of Portuguese biodynamics. Over the years he became interested in the Steiner principles which he adopted in 2007.
Quinta da Palmirinha is among the few Demeter certified wineries in all of Portugal and is located near the town of Lixa, in the north-west of Portugal.
