Quinta de Roriz is one of the oldest vineyards in the Douro Valley. It has been known for its wines since the beginning of
18th century.
The shale soil of the Upper Douro Valley in Roriz predominates, but the composition is also influenced by the specific geology of the territory where the presence of a pond and traces of gold from old mines in the upper part of the estate gives a distinctive minerality to the wines .

Located on the south bank of the Douro River halfway between Pinhão and Tua, the Quinta forms a natural amphitheater with a predominantly northern orientation, which gives a fresher appearance to the wines.
