Redigaffi is a great Italian red wine produced by Tua Rita in Val di Cornia, and obtained from 100% Merlot grapes harvested manually. The soil is heavily clayey and the planting density is very high, 8500 vines per hectare, the approach to viticulture reflects that of integrated pest management. Long maceration on the skins and refinement for 18/20 months in first passage barriques, finally resting in the bottle for a few months before being put on the market. Redigaffi is a riot of floral pot pourri and red fruit jam on the nose, with woody and smoky hints of vanilla and cinnamon, coffee and tobacco. In the mouth it is fresh and powerful, smooth and elegant, the tannin is soft and the finish is long and round. Redigaffi is perfect for braised meats or with a fillet with green pepper.

Manual harvesting in 15 kg boxes with meticulous selection of the bunch, maceration for around 3 weeks and aging in first passage barriques for 18/20 months, then 4/6 months in the bottle before being put on the market
Complex with hints of dried flowers and red fruit jam, salty and mineral notes, hints of wood and smoke with sweet spices and tertiary tobacco and coffee, but also mint and liquorice on the finish

Tua Rita’s story begins in 1984, with very different perspectives from what would later be. The estate had been purchased by Rita and Virgilio to provide a setting for a place to live in contact with nature, but the two’s passion for wine definitely changed things.
Initially there were 2 hectares of vineyard, cultivated with passion and rigor, and over the years many more were added, up to the current size of 60 hectares.
Rita and Virgilio have always strongly believed in that land halfway between the Tyrrhenian Sea and the Metalliferous hills, the Val di Cornia.
The name Tua Rita is simply the version of the name and surname of Rita Tua, and if the couple has always taken care of the practical part between the vineyard and the cellar, Stefano Frascolla, the husband of Serena, Rita and Virgilio’s daughter, has carried out a very important job in terms of marketing and image, exporting the company’s wines all over the world.
