Riesling 3 Bottles

Riesling, apart from its variants, is a white grape variety of German origin with fruity, often citrusy scents and a great capacity for ageing.

Outside Germany it is widely cultivated in nearby Alsace, Austria and Italy; it is also present in Slovenia, Hungary, the New World and Argentina.

Riesling gives life to very refined, charming wines with great freshness and low alcohol content, especially in Mosel, where it draws on a really rich soil and sublimates.

According to the German classification system they are distinguished into:

• Trocken, no residual sugar
• Spatlese, from a late harvest, more structured and with a hint of sugar.
• Auslese, from late and selected harvests, may have been attacked by noble rot.
• Beerenauslese, mouldy, certainly attacked by Botrytis Cinerea.
• Eiswein, Riesling whose grapes have been frozen by frost and which develop a remarkable concentration of sugar.
• Trockenbeerenauslese, practically infinite, wines whose bunches undergo an almost total desiccation, sweet and with a unique taste.
