Rouvinez Ardevaz Humagne Rouge 2008

The Rouvinez family has been producing wines in Sierre in the Swiss canton of Valais since 1947 when Bernard Rouvinez, 'Vigneron'
independent founded the company. Currently Bernard's sons, Dominique and Jean-Bernard graduated in
oenology to run the 'Domaine'; continuity for the future is guaranteed with the arrival of two young
Rouvinez, Vèronique and Frèdèric. The Rouvinez philosophy is to produce wines respecting and enhancing the
maximum the different characteristics of the indigenous Valais grape varieties, cultivated in the best sites located on the bank
orographic right bank of the Rhone River with full southern exposure. Valais mountain viticulture is considered to be
"heroic' due to the conditions of the very steep and stony vineyard slopes and the all-manual work that of
consequence must be carried out. Glacial subsoils are responsible for the great complexity,
richness, minerality and longevity of the wines obtained. A further prerogative of Rouvinez wines is that of
vinify each vineyard parcel separately in order to clearly identify the different 'crus' both for
grape variety than by terroir; the wines are moreover kept in the cellar to refine for the time necessary to
obtain the right maturity, which is quite rare, but necessary in order to be able to best appreciate the
tertiary olfactory and gustatory nuances that develop with time.
