Central Otago, New Zealand Yoshiaky Sato and his wife Kyoko met during their respective assignments for a Japanese banking group operating between Tokyo and London; they were both hired in 1998 but did not meet until many years later, in time to decide to fly to New Zealnda together to make wine. They later graduated in agronomy and oenology in Christchurch and settled in Central Otago where they established their company, Sato Estate
