SEB: A Journey into the Heart of Wine-growing Albania
In the rolling hills of Vlora, in the south of Albania, an ambitious project is revolutionizing the world of wine. SEB, an acronym that hides a meaning yet to be revealed, is much more than a simple winery: it is a return to the origins, a celebration of the land and a tribute to the native vines.
Born in 2018 from the passion of a group of oenophiles, SEB aims to produce wines that tell the story of a unique territory. The vineyards, cultivated with traditional and environmentally friendly methods, extend across alluvial soils, rich in pebbles and sand, which give the wines a unique minerality and complexity.
The choice to focus on native vines is a declaration of intent. Vines that have characterized the Albanian landscape for centuries, but which risked disappearing due to industrialization and standardization. SEB, by recovering and enhancing these ancient varieties, contributes to preserving an invaluable genetic heritage.
The cellar, created inside a tunnel dug in the 1920s, offers a fresh and constant environment, ideal for winemaking. Here, the wines ferment spontaneously, without the addition of selected yeasts, and refine in large wooden barrels, acquiring roundness and complexity.
But SEB is not just wine. It is also a project to enhance the territory, an invitation to discover an authentic Albania full of surprises. The tastings organized in the cellar, among the vineyards and overlooking the sea, are an unforgettable experience for wine enthusiasts.
In conclusion, SEB represents a winning bet on a territory that is still little explored from an oenological point of view. A project that combines tradition and innovation, passion and respect for nature. Savoring a SEB wine means embarking on a sensorial journey to discover an authentic and surprising Albania.
