Ciro Marina, Calabria
The Parilla family has been producing wine on the highly suitable Ionian coast for 4 generations, now in the saddle are Mariangela, Caterina and Giuseppe, who took over from their father Francesco.
The company extends over 15 hectares of vineyards and two of olive groves, and has been in all respects a wine estate since 2004, organic since 2010.
At this moment it is Mariangela who dictates the company guidelines, first deciding to focus only on local vines and subsequently joining the Ciro Revolution, a local artisan movement aimed at enhancing this magnificent land once known as Enotria.
In this area everything is in fact perfect for the cultivation of vines: marine influences, arid soil, fantastic climate, presence of the Sila. Everything in the right place to produce amazing wines.
The vineyards are in some cases even 60 years old, cared for without the use of chemicals, and resting on clay-limestone soils. In the cellar the fermentations are spontaneous obtained with native yeasts, the bottling is without clarification or filtration, with small quantities of sulfur dioxide added. The refinement is always in steel.
The resulting wines are of great quality, sunny and Mediterranean like the land from which they come, with an incredible quality/price ratio.
