Ortonovo, Liguria
Terra della Luna is located in Ortonovo, within the Colli di Luni appellation in the area known as Pezzo Grande, an area devoted since 1800 to the production of wine, the Blanc Bon dear to the Fabbricotti family.
The company was founded in 2006 by Alessandro Vignali and has hectares under Vermentino, Shiraz and Grenache vines.
The terroir is composed of clay soils that benefit from the salty influences of the nearby Ligurian Sea.
The winery's approach is organic and sparingly interventionist in the vineyard, where natural sweet orange essence is used alongside homeopathic amounts of copper and sulphur. Vignali repudiates chemistry and has lost no fewer than three vintages since 2009 in order not to abandon its ideals.
In the cellar, vinification is carried out using indigenous yeasts and spontaneous fermentation
