Ostra Vetere, Marche

Costantino Mariani Fratini personally takes care of the historic vineyard located in Ostra, under certified organic management, from winter pruning to the strictly hand-harvested harvest, from the processing of the grapes to the manual labeling of each individual bottle.

Its absolutely unique and natural wines are born here with spontaneous fermentation and without filtration.

The Lacrima di Morro d’Alba, cultivated only in the province of Ancona and neighboring municipalities, is a red berried grape with early budding, which exposes it to the return of spring cold and therefore it becomes essential to correctly position the vineyards, excluding the areas at the bottom of the valley where the layers of cold air that slide along the slopes of the hills can remain.

Its bunches are of medium size, the berries have a dark blue colour, with a thick skin, rich in polyphenols but so delicate that they break easily at the end of maturation, giving rise to the characteristic tearing, and this explains the origin of the
name.
