Villa Papiano is a winery located in Modigliana, on the border between Romagna and Tuscany near the Ibola river valley, a stone's throw from the Casentino Forest National Park.
This area is the elective home of Sangiovese di Romagna, the vines are in the woods and the climate is decidedly cool.
Villa Papiano is a 15th century palace that is home to the production of the famous Bordini family, characterised by vertical wines with great ageing potential.
The company is run by 4 brothers who share the main tasks, they are sons of art the father is Remigio Bordini, agronomist to all nicknamed the Doctor, one of the greatest experts in Italy on Sangiovese.
Villa Papiano has been certified organic since 2009 and the first vintage dates back to 2001
