From Amsterdam to Catalunya, Jurriaan and Dido are a couple with a crazy passion for natural wine, who in 2018 realize their dream, that of owning a wine cellar, in 2018.
Theirs is an incredible story, Jurriaan is an engineer, he was responsible for a tourist agency, Dido is a Cultural Anthropologist researcher who studied in South Africa at the Swartland Independent Producers, a group of natural producers who were an inspiration for the couple.
From there various experiences in France and Catalunya, up to the North Eastern region of Alt-Emporda, Girona, in large companies but also in small boutiques.
Vinyes Tortuga extends over almost 10 hectares of land in the Albera Nature Reserve, in the Pyrenees Orientales area, the wines are produced with little human intervention in the vineyard and cellar, without fining, filtration or stabilizers.
Jurriaan and Dido produce Garnacha, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Tannat and Barbera, from vines that are between 15 and 20 years old, the approach is biodynamic. The bottles produced are approximately 13,000.
The name of all the wines recalls particularly loved albums or songs.
