Vouvray Pierres Rousses 2021 Domaine Breton

Vouvray Pierres Rousses is a white wine produced by Domaine Breton in Benais, Loire, and obtained from pure Chenin Blanc grapes, harvested manually and coming from 55-year-old plants on soil rich in clay and flint. The fermentation is spontaneous, with indigenous yeasts, the grapes are pressed and immediately placed in 400 liter second and third passage barrels. Vouvray Pierres Rousses displays citrus and vegetal scents, of wax and flint, of honey and hydrocarbon. In the mouth its freshness is balanced by a small hint of residual sugar which balances the drink and guarantees a long and pleasant sip

A bomb on the nose with various hints of citrus and floral, then wax and flint, honey and almost hydrocarbon hints.

Very fresh but moderated by a light and pleasant residual sugar, savory and persistent

The Breton family was born for wine, curiously in fact here the Cabernet Franc is called Breton, and they live in an ancient farmhouse with adjacent cellars and surrounded by nature: Vineyards and Woods.

The company is right in the center of the Bourguel-Benais-Restignè triangle and extends over 11 hectares raised in a natural way.

The grapes ferment spontaneously with native yeasts, but in different containers, based on the soil of their origin. Those that come from gravelly areas go into stainless steel, while those that come from clayey ones end up in old oak vats.
