Montalcino (Siena) The Azienda Agricola S. Giuseppe is located south of Montalcino near the Sant'Antimo Abbey and is firmly run since the early 1990s by Stella Viola di Campalto, a true pioneer of natural wine and Sangiovese. The company has been certified organic since 1996 and biodynamic since 2005. The winery consists of 15 hectares, 6 of which are vineyards Vigna al Leccio, Vigna Curva, Vigna al Sasso, Vigna Bassa, Vigna all'Ulivo and Vigna al Bosco. These vineyards are harvested by hand and then vinified individually, preserving the different characteristics of each, and are then blended and cask-aged for about 2 years for the Rosso and 3 years and 6 months for the Brunello. This is followed by 9 months of bottle ageing before being put on the market. The production is about 20,000 bottles divided into 12,000 of Rosso di Montalcino and 8,000 of Brunello.
